Pencil Drawing of Tiger Mom Carrying Her Cub

I decided to try out a different medium. Here I combined pastel pencils with regular colored pencils, and I have to say I was very pleased with the outcome. By the way, the pastel pencils were a present that I did not expect, and the medium is new to me. I think they have a steep learning curve and require more skill than colored pencils, so had I tried to use only pastels, I’m sure that the outcome would have been quite a bit less impressive. I think I’ll keep experimenting with both of these.

Anyway, I saw a few pictures of female lions and tigers carrying their cubs, and I really wanted to  do a drawing of it. This one came spontaneously, and I never expected I’d be doing it in color. Still, I think it turned out to be one of my nicest color pictures so far.
